Beef Tallow Spill Cleanup at Industrial Facility | Enviro Medics Hazmat Team
On March 20, the Enviro Medics Emergency Spill Response Team was dispatched to a facility after a large beef tallow (beef grease) spill was reported in the loading dock area. Upon arrival, our crew found approximately 400 gallons of tallow that had leaked from a trailer due to a broken valve—creating a slippery, hazardous environment and interrupting normal operations.
Our 24/7 hazmat team was first tasked with making the trailer safe for travel, ensuring there were no active leaks and securing the damaged valve to prevent further product release. Once stabilized, our technicians began the cleanup and mitigation process, using specialized absorbents and a combination of proven techniques to safely collect and remove the grease.
Because beef tallow can become extremely slick and difficult to manage, rapid containment and proper handling are essential. Our crew worked efficiently to restore the loading dock, allowing the facility to continue operations with minimal disruption to staff and workflow.
Thanks to their experience—and perhaps being a little “slick” themselves—our team quickly brought the situation under control and ensured the facility was safe, compliant, and fully operational.
