Diesel Spill Containment & Remediation on I-65 Median | Enviro Medics Hazmat Team

On March 20th, the Enviro Medics Emergency Spill Response Team was dispatched to a reported large fuel spill in the median of Interstate 65 Interstate 65. The tow company on scene reported that approximately three inches of diesel fuel had pooled in the median after a truck left the roadway and crashed through the guardrail.

Our 24/7 hazmat team immediately began assisting with spill containment and worked to pump off the remaining diesel still present in the truck’s fuel tanks. Unfortunately, because the crash occurred around 2 AM, and our team was notified at 6 AM, the diesel had already absorbed deep into the soil by the time we arrived—making excavation and remediation necessary.

To ensure environmental safety and regulatory compliance, our team secured and stabilized the site, preventing further migration of contaminants. Full remediation will require traffic control, proper excavation permits, and coordinated environmental protocols, all of which Enviro Medics is actively preparing to complete.

Even in cases where spills have soaked into the ground, our team delivers the expertise needed to remediate the area and return it to pre-incident conditions.

Enviro Medics LLC proudly provides diesel spill cleanup, hazardous materials response, and environmental remediation across Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky. From minor highway spills to major environmental releases, our team is ready to respond—fast and safely.
