Enviro Medics Responds to Large Corn Oil Spill on I-65 at Exit 22 North
On February 15, our Emergency Response Team started the day early after a truck carrying corn oil lost its load at Exit 22 north on I-65. The incident created a major roadway hazard, with corn oil covering nearly a mile of interstate and nearby surfaces.
Enviro Medics worked closely alongside TDOT crews to contain and clean the spill as quickly and safely as possible. Connersville Highway was reopened first, followed by the northbound offramp once the roadway was fully treated and safe for traffic.
After restoring the highway, our team divided efforts to assist nearby businesses affected by the spill. We cleaned parking lots, walkways, and customer areas to eliminate slip hazards and ensure the properties were safe to reopen.
This incident required every resource we had, and our team responded with speed, coordination, and professionalism—demonstrating once again why Enviro Medics is trusted for emergency spill response throughout Middle Tennessee.
