Oil Spill Closes Exit Ramp

On February 15 our Emergency Response Team was given an early wake up call when a truck carrying corn oil lost its load at exit 22 north on I 65. This was a large spill covering approximately 1 mile of roadway. Our team worked alongside with TDOT to clean up the spill and make the road safe for traffic. Connersville Highway was reopened first then the offramp. After both roads were open our team split up to tackle the businesses effected by the spill and ensure their parking lots were safe for customers.

Our Team used all its resources and were able to handle the incident quickly and efficiently.
