Interstate 40 East Closed After Accident

On March 7,2023 our Emergency Spill Response team was requested to I 40 East at mile marker 158 for a tractor trailer accident. The truck had 2 hazardous spills currently. The truck was leaking diesel onto the shoulder and roadway and also leaking cargo (wine) out of the trailer. Our crews arrived on scene quickly and contained both spill keeping the wine from contaminating the environment and specifically a creek near by. After the site was contained, we assisted with offloading the good cargo to send back to the shipper. Our quick response and willingness to help other responders overall reduced the cost and impact from this incident.
